Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following education-and-experience combinations:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field, plus 9 years of professional engineering experience, including 6 years in a supervisory role; or
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field, plus 7 years of professional engineering experience, including 6 years in a supervisory role.

Additional Requirements

  • A valid New Mexico Driver's License is required, or the ability to secure one by the hire date.
  • A City Operator's Permit (COP) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • A current Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. If the license is from another state, New Mexico licensure must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
