Role overview
This position is part of the Rooms & Guest Services Operations team at a property in Diplomatic Street, West Bay Area, Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role and is marked as not remote.
What you will handle
- Carry out guest check-in procedures, including confirming identity, taking payment details, assigning rooms, and activating room keys.
- Create accurate guest accounts based on individual requirements and add Marriott Rewards details where needed.
- Confirm that room rates align with market codes and record any exceptions.
- Collect payment before issuing room access, and review or correct billing as needed.
- Prepare, examine, and finalize daily reports, logs, and contingency lists.
- Complete cashier close-out work and end-of-shift reports.
- Provide directions and property-related information to guests.
- Respond to guest requests, involving the right team members when needed, and follow through until the request is resolved.
- Process all forms of payment, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges.
- Balance receipts, secure cash at the start and end of the shift, and obtain manual approvals when required.
- Follow all accounting procedures and alert Loss Prevention/Security when theft is reported by a guest.
- Support managers in training, evaluating, coaching, motivating, and guiding employees.
- Act as a role model and the first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Build strong working relationships and help the team work toward shared objectives.
- Listen to employee concerns and respond in an appropriate manner.
- Follow company policies, complete safety training and certifications, and report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential and proprietary information.
- Safeguard company assets and deliver a welcoming guest experience.
- Recognize guest needs in advance, support guests with disabilities, and show sincere appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, handle written work accurately, and answer phones with proper etiquette.
- Meet quality expectations, use computers and POS systems to enter and retrieve information, and carry out additional duties as assigned.
Experience and education
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of relevant work experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
