Role Summary

The housekeeper is responsible for keeping the community clean, safe, and comfortable for residents, employees, and guests. The job involves carrying out scheduled cleaning duties, maintaining strong hygiene standards, and helping create a welcoming living environment. The position also requires courteous, respectful interaction with residents and family members.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out regular cleaning of resident rooms, shared areas, dining areas, and office spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Sanitize bathrooms thoroughly, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors.
• Remove waste and recycling, then replace bin liners as needed.
• Wash and restock linens, towels, and similar items.
• Work according to the community cleaning timetable, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Maintain warm, respectful interactions that help build trust with residents.
• Protect residents’ privacy and personal preferences while cleaning their homes.
• Escalate maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or changes in resident needs to the supervisor.
• Use cleaning tools and chemicals properly and safely.
• Follow infection prevention and sanitation practices, including correct waste handling and disposal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environments such as hotels.
• Strong eye for detail and a consistent focus on cleanliness.
• Good organizational ability and time management.
• Friendly, professional manner in daily interactions.
• Helpful knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards.
