Role overview

The Kitchen Support Expert contributes to the smooth running of multiple hotel operations by assisting with cleaning, basic kitchen prep, and related support tasks. This role may involve working in different areas such as the kitchen, food and beverage outlets, and the employee dining space. Typical duties include handling clean linens and spotless tableware for guests, using and looking after dishwashing and hand-wash equipment, and moving dishware around the property as needed.

Key duties

This position is focused on keeping back-of-house and service areas running efficiently through dependable support work. The job may require you to help with cleaning equipment, basic preparation tasks, and the transport of dishware and supplies across the hotel.

Safety, conduct, and work standards

You are expected to follow company policies as well as all safety and security rules, report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to a manager, and complete any required safety training or certifications. Professional grooming, confidentiality, and protection of company property are essential. You should greet guests in line with company standards, communicate clearly and professionally, build positive working relationships, support team goals, and maintain quality expectations and standards.

Physical requirements

This role involves standing, sitting, or walking for long periods. It also requires frequent reaching above and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. You must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred qualifications

No formal high school diploma or GED is required. Prior work experience in a similar role is not necessary, and no supervisory background is needed. No license or certification is required.
