Role Overview

As Manager, Validation, you will lead the independent validation function within the Strategy pillar. The team includes a generative researcher, an evaluative researcher, and a product analyst, and together they form the signal layer that checks whether product work is truly delivering value. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building the function, raising its quality, and ensuring it stays fast, credible, and separate from the PMs who define direction.

The role is suited to someone who has already been the strongest researcher or analyst in the room and is now ready to increase their influence by leading a team and shaping a function from an early stage.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop the validation team, including a generative researcher, an evaluative researcher, and a product analyst, while setting the craft standard and supporting their growth.
  • Safeguard the independence of the validation signal so it remains separate from strategic PM decision-making and continues to provide honest feedback.
  • Ensure validation stays fast and properly resourced so it does not become a blocker as more product teams are added.
  • Define how validation should operate in an AI-native organization: quickly, in an advisory capacity, and aligned with the product build cycle rather than a separate process.
  • Own and maintain the failure library as a living source of truth for customers who were unable to achieve value and as the main input for prioritization of fixes.
  • Work closely with strategic PMs and the wider Strategy team so that research findings meaningfully influence product decisions.

What You Bring

  • A strong background in product research, UX research, data analytics, or a closely related insights field, with a history of producing evidence that changed product decisions.
  • The ability to guide a team that works across both qualitative and quantitative methods, even if your own background is deeper in one area.
  • A clear perspective on how to keep validation independent, plus the confidence to defend that independence when there is pressure to soften findings.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving, autonomous environment where validation must keep pace with product development.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to present findings clearly to PMs, designers, and engineers without needing a meeting to explain them.

  • Previous people-management or team leadership experience, though first-time managers with strong individual contributor backgrounds are welcome.

Compensation

Camunda offers competitive, fair, and transparent pay. Compensation is based on location, with salary bands shown for Standard and Major markets. The Total Target Cash includes base salary plus 100% variable target where applicable. Final offers depend on skills, experience, and location, and hiring typically starts in the lower half of the range to leave room for growth.

  • United States: $166,000 to $267,600 annual total target cash.
  • United Kingdom: £104,200 to £171,400 annual total target cash.
  • Singapore: S$206,100 to S$309,200 annual total target cash.
