Role overview
The Mathematician will create and refine the mathematical systems that power online slot game mechanics. This position brings together advanced math, statistics, probability, coding ability, and game design thinking to turn original concepts into well-balanced, commercially viable games for the iGaming space.
Location: Nevada or Texas, remote.
Core responsibilities
- Build, enhance, and support mathematical frameworks for slot titles, including reel setups, payout tables, bonus mechanics, jackpots, progressive systems, and trigger logic.
- Set and manage essential game performance measures such as RTP, hit rate, bonus occurrence, and player value distribution, while keeping the design aligned with product objectives and market needs.
- Prepare comprehensive mathematical records, including probability studies, game rules, feature math, expected value calculations, simulation outputs, and materials needed for regulatory review.
- Adapt models and game logic to meet compliance standards in different jurisdictions.
- Develop simulation environments, analysis tools, and prototype code to test game behavior, verify calculations, and measure feature performance across millions of simulated rounds.
- Work in close partnership with game designers, developers, and other mathematicians across the full concept-to-launch process, contributing ideas, shaping mechanics, balancing features, and helping deliver engaging player experiences.
- Review market movements, competitor offerings, and player preferences to spot innovation opportunities and support the creation of successful games.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a similar quantitative discipline is required.
- A mathematics major or minor is mandatory.
- Strong command of probability, statistics, combinatorics, and game mathematics.
- At least 5 years of experience in iGaming mathematics, slot game development, or a closely related area.
- Advanced programming capability, including experience building simulation utilities and mathematical analysis frameworks.
- Strong C# skills are preferred; Java, C++, Python, or another object-oriented language is also relevant.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
Eligibility
Applicants should be qualified mathematics or quantitative-field professionals with substantial experience in slot game mathematics or a related iGaming role. Candidates based in Nevada or Texas are suitable for this remote position.
