Role Overview
This full-time, on-site Mechanic position in Cork involves carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and repair work across a range of vehicles. The work centres on tyres, brakes, suspension, and core mechanical systems. You will identify faults, suggest suitable repair options, complete maintenance to manufacturer and company standards, use diagnostic equipment and workshop tools, keep service documentation accurate, and help maintain a tidy, safe workshop. The role also includes supporting customers and coworkers by explaining findings clearly and organizing work priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs on passenger and light commercial vehicles.
- Focus on tyre-related work, brake systems, suspension components, and basic vehicle mechanics.
- Diagnose faults and recommend practical repair or maintenance solutions.
- Use diagnostic instruments and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate service notes and repair records.
- Ensure all work meets company procedures, manufacturer guidance, and safety standards.
- Communicate findings clearly to customers and colleagues.
- Prioritize jobs and help keep the workshop organized, efficient, and safe.
Requirements
- Solid maintenance and repair capability across common vehicle systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance, including inspections and scheduled servicing.
- Practical exposure to workshop machinery and heavy equipment such as tyre changers and lifts.
- Good troubleshooting ability for mechanical, electrical, and tyre-related issues.
- Automotive qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience in vehicle mechanics or a related area.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, service instructions, and manufacturer documentation.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental practices in a workshop environment.
- Good teamwork, time management, and communication skills in a busy customer-oriented setting.
