Role overview

Valence Surface Technologies is hiring a Quality Engineer for its Eastman, GA facility. In this role, you will report to the Quality Manager and help run quality control, process control, and continuous improvement activities across the site. The position relies on testing, inspection, and the creation of systems that support products and services meeting or surpassing customer needs. What you will do

  • Apply quality principles, systems, tools, standards, risk concepts, and team dynamics to support customer satisfaction and supplier performance.
  • Support the quality system through development, documentation, and implementation aligned with domestic and international requirements.
  • Create, run, monitor, and improve quality programs, including tracking, analysis, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Set up and execute product and process quality practices such as planning, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems.
  • Use reliability, maintainability, and risk management concepts, including reporting and assessment tools.
  • Plan, manage, control, and implement process or project requirements and readiness activities.
  • Use problem-solving and quality improvement techniques, including preventive and corrective actions, planning tools, and methods to remove barriers to improvement.
  • Develop and apply process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection methods.
  • Collect and analyze data using appropriate quantitative methods to support process analysis and improvement.
  • Take part in audit activities, including planning, preparation, execution, reporting, and follow-up.
  • Review customer purchase orders, contracts, and change requests to ensure quality and process plans include the required provisions.
  • Review supplier purchase orders and define supplier quality expectations.
  • Prepare and present training material related to quality standards and activities.
  • Handle basic calibration determinations and related functions.
  • Monitor process quality to confirm compliance, identify issues, recommend solutions, and produce quality documentation.
  • Work with production and operations teams to resolve quality and production problems, reduce internal nonconformances, prevent external nonconformances, and improve first-pass yield.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts from investigation through implementation.
  • Assist with new product introductions and new process development.
  • Assist with new process launches, including specification review, gap analysis, and PFMEA activities.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and education preferences

The preferred background includes 2 to 3 years of NADCAP experience, 6 to 10 years of aerospace chemical processing experience, and at least 2 years of engineering experience. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
