Security IT Support Engineer

About the role

Crypto.com is hiring a Security IT Support Engineer to help keep day-to-day IT operations stable while ensuring security is built into the way the company works. This position blends hands-on support with ownership of device hygiene, access control, patching, and vulnerability management across endpoints, servers, and virtual desktop environments.

The Security Team operates at a high standard, with deep expertise in cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance. The group works in a fast-changing crypto environment and values practical experience, quick learning, and strong collaboration. AI is also becoming part of the internal workflow, so this role will contribute to making sure new AI tools are adopted with appropriate security safeguards.

What you'll do

• Serve as the main point of contact for IT support issues, resolve tickets quickly, meet service targets, and keep operations moving smoothly.
• Manage the full device lifecycle for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and virtual desktops, including deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and retirement.
• Oversee patching for endpoints, workstations, cloud servers, and VDI environments; identify required updates, apply them, and report progress.
• Run and review vulnerability scans across the environment, assess risk, and drive remediation until issues are closed.
• Administer user identities and permissions while applying least-privilege principles and handling provisioning and deprovisioning efficiently.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of security controls such as endpoint protection, DLP, email security, and network protections.
• Maintain accurate asset records so the organisation knows what hardware and devices exist, where they are located, and who is responsible for them.
• Handle onboarding and offboarding tasks to ensure access is granted appropriately on joiners and removed cleanly when people leave.
• Help teams adopt AI tools safely by identifying risks such as prompt injection, data leakage, and unsafe integrations, and by supporting inventory and guardrails for AI usage.

What we're looking for

• At least 3 years of experience in IT support or IT operations.
• Strong practical knowledge of identity and access management, MDM platforms, and endpoint security tooling.
• Some exposure to patch management, even if primarily for laptops, along with a willingness to expand into broader environments.
• Basic familiarity with vulnerability scanning and the ability to interpret scan results at a high level.
• Awareness of how workplace AI tools operate and the ability to assess their security implications.
• Ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
• A proactive, self-managed working style with the ability to keep initiatives moving without constant follow-up.

Nice to have

• Relevant IT or security certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, AWS, or Microsoft certifications.
• Experience supporting office IT infrastructure such as networking hardware, workstations, and cabling.
• Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Exposure to LLM security topics such as prompt injection, data leakage, and agent-related risks.
• Prior experience in a high-security or fast-paced environment.
