Role Overview
This position is for a Shift Lead in Engineering at Ankleshwar, Gujarat, within the supply chain function. The role is centered on keeping equipment reliable, coordinating shift-level maintenance work, and ensuring compliance with plant systems and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to line breakdowns promptly so production efficiency is protected.
- Manage manpower allocation and track leave schedules.
- Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance according to the planned schedule and maintain the related records.
- Follow SAP-based engineering workflows, including material issuance from stores, upkeep of spares and consumables records, and closure of notifications and work orders through Maintwiz and SAP.
- Perform inspections in line with SMS, EMS, and QMS requirements and keep proper documentation.
- Prepare shift reports and share updates with the relevant block in-charge.
- Ensure that daily checklists, logbooks, and CLRI entries for equipment are completed correctly.
- Work with the shift representative to prioritize jobs, mobilize resources, and resolve issues quickly.
- Follow safety permit procedures and lockout/tagout requirements while carrying out work.
- Support maintenance-related DCS operations and manual interventions when required.
- Interpret available drawings and execute work accordingly.
- Contribute inputs for breakdown analysis and help implement CAPA actions.
- Handle troubleshooting and operational support for utilities such as boilers, compressors, chillers, nitrogen plants, thermic fluid heaters, cooling towers, DM water plants, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain working knowledge of pumps, actuator valves, 2-way valves, and packing and processing equipment used in paint manufacturing.
- Assist the team with capex execution and procurement-related activities.
- Apply basic engineering standards in day-to-day work.
- Take part actively in 5S, Kaizen, SPC, SFC, SSR savings, MDT, DOR, SBT, safety, and energy-saving initiatives.
