Role Overview

AVTEL is hiring a Project Manager in Sydney for an experienced professional who has delivered projects in electronic security or a closely related field, ideally within data centres or similarly large-scale environments. The position calls for someone with a positive approach, solid technical understanding, commercial judgement, and the confidence to take responsibility and drive outcomes. The ideal person is comfortable solving problems, works well in a fast-moving setting, and is known for creating trusted working relationships while delivering measurable results.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven project delivery experience in construction, security systems, or another technical discipline related to project management.
• Hands-on experience with expediting work, including procurement follow-up, tracking, and ensuring equipment and materials arrive on schedule.
• Understanding of inspection activities, quality assurance, and compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.
• Capability in logistics coordination, including shipments, site-based deliveries, and stock control across several projects at the same time.
• A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent practical experience, in engineering, construction management, security systems, or a similar area.
• Ability to manage stakeholders effectively, communicate clearly, and maintain productive relationships with clients, vendors, and site teams.
• Strong planning, problem-solving, and risk management skills, with close attention to detail and a commitment to delivering on schedule and within budget.
• Familiarity with electronic security systems or low-voltage systems is preferred, and industry certifications will be considered an advantage.
