仕事内容

Role overview

This role is focused on uncovering, investigating, and explaining abuse, misuse, and policy breaches affecting AI-powered developer tools, with a strong emphasis on Copilot-related activity. You will transform telemetry, account indicators, billing and entitlement information, and usage patterns into insights that guide detection, policy, and enforcement decisions.

You’ll work remotely from Alberta, Canada and partner with Trust & Safety, Product, Engineering, Security, Data Science, and Legal to help protect the platform and improve how abuse is detected and addressed.

What you will do

  • Review Copilot and related product data to spot abuse patterns such as scripted or automated use, credential or account sharing, token misuse, limit evasion, prompt injection, content-policy breaches, and coordinated fraudulent behavior.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and prototype analytical models that support Trust & Safety decisions, including abuse-risk scoring, anomaly detection, and investigation views.
  • Translate complex findings into practical recommendations through clear reports, presentations, and visualizations that influence detection logic, policy changes, and enforcement actions.
  • Close data gaps by identifying missing or weak signals, suggesting new data pipelines or integrations, and teaming up with Engineering and Data Science to strengthen abuse detection coverage.
  • Assess analytical methods critically, including risks of false positives, false negatives, and any unintended impact on legitimate users, and propose ways to reduce those risks.
  • Turn recurring investigations into repeatable reporting and scalable monitoring solutions wherever possible.
  • Coordinate with Trust & Safety, Product, Anti-Abuse Engineering, Security, Data Science, and Legal to align definitions, taxonomies, and operating standards.
  • Handle sensitive prompt, completion, and user-activity data with strong attention to privacy, governance, ethics, and required legal review.
  • Share expertise with teammates, support junior analysts, and communicate insights to senior leadership.

Experience and qualifications

Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business/financial analysis. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a similar field plus 3+ years of relevant experience is acceptable, or equivalent experience.

Preferred background includes 7+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a related field with 5+/3+ years of experience respectively. Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar analytics tools is preferred, along with consulting experience and exposure to abuse, fraud, or Trust & Safety analysis on a large-scale online platform.

Useful domain knowledge includes common abuse behaviors on developer platforms, such as scripted usage, shared credentials, usage-limit evasion, prompt injection, and content-policy violations. Experience working with Trust & Safety, Anti-Abuse, Security, and Legal teams on sensitive matters is also valued.

Working style and values

The team values customer focus, continuous learning, growth mindset, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and strong leadership habits such as modeling good practices, coaching others, and creating clarity and momentum.

Equal opportunity

The employer is committed to fair hiring and welcomes candidates from all backgrounds. Reasonable accommodation can be requested for interview or accessibility needs.
