Role overview
Hanwha Ocean is building out its engineering and project delivery capabilities across offshore, onshore, and renewable energy domains. The company is seeking a Software Application Engineer to support Engineering Information System (EIS) operations for Singapore-based projects and corporate teams.
This role is centered on configuring EIS platforms to match company and project needs, managing users, resolving system issues, and helping keep EIS implementations running efficiently. The position is especially relevant for professionals with hands-on exposure to AVEVA engineering tools and prior experience supporting offshore or FPSO FEED/EPCI work.

Hanwha Ocean is transitioning from a conventional shipbuilding background into a broader Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Operation (EPCI(O)) solutions provider. Its work now covers FPSO, FLNG, offshore renewables, floating production units, and major onshore energy and infrastructure developments.
The company is expanding further into onshore power generation, including gas-fired and combined-cycle plants, as well as onshore and offshore wind initiatives. This growth brings together energy and infrastructure expertise from Asia and America to deliver end-to-end solutions across emerging markets.
Key responsibilities
- Report to the Corporate EIS Lead, Lead Engineer, or Head of Discipline.
- Assist in creating corporate project or technical standards and procedures for Engineering Information Systems.
- Configure EIS solutions so they align with company and project requirements.
- Set up the EIS environment.
- Handle user administration for the EIS platform.
- Investigate and resolve EIS issues and technical problems.
- Maintain and manage the EIS database.
- Prepare status updates covering development, customization, troubleshooting, and other EIS activities.
- Take on additional tasks assigned by corporate or project management.
Requirements
- A degree in Information Technology or an engineering-related field.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in the offshore or onshore oil and gas sector, ideally with a leading FPSO contractor or offshore/onshore EPC contractor.
- Prior project experience supporting Engineering Information Systems is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AVEVA engineering platforms such as AVEVA Unified Engineering, AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA Electrical, AVEVA Instrumentation, AVEVA AIM, AVEVA E3D, and AVEVA ERM.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability in handling assignments.
- Ability to coordinate with colleagues, communicate clearly, and manage several priorities at once.
- Strong command of English, including both spoken and written communication.

This is an onsite role based in Singapore, Singapore.
