Job description
Role Overview
The hotel is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled maintenance professional to support guest comfort by keeping temperature control and air quality systems running effectively. In this position, you will install, service, troubleshoot, and repair systems that regulate cooling and air quality across the property.
Key Duties
- Service, repair, and provide technical support for all electrical and mechanical refrigeration equipment in the hotel, including freezers, refrigerators, ice makers, fan coil units, chillers, and similar systems.
- Carry out preventive upkeep for all air-conditioning and refrigeration installations throughout the property.
- Inspect the operating condition of refrigeration systems and their components.
- Check that walk-in cooler and freezer door closing mechanisms are working properly, including gaskets and latches.
- Monitor and maintain defrosting mechanisms and the automation features of ice machines.
- Respond to maintenance requests raised by different departments.
- Perform regular cleaning of fan coil units and air-handling unit filters.
- Inspect the performance of air-conditioning and chilled water systems.
- Work closely with engineering colleagues to identify faults in air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and to support system setup.
- Ensure strict compliance with CFC venting control requirements to prevent release into the atmosphere.
- Carry out overhauling work on air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems.
- Check refrigerant and oil levels and assist in controlling major repairs.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Storekeeper regarding the purchase of spare parts.
- Complete all tasks in line with local technical regulations and safety standards.
Skills and Competencies
You should bring strong troubleshooting ability, practical technical knowledge, and a service-oriented mindset. The role also calls for teamwork, reliability, adaptability, and the ability to stay composed in a busy environment.
Education and Experience
A diploma in refrigeration systems maintenance or building services engineering is preferred, along with prior experience in a similar role and a solid understanding of equipment operation and maintenance. Good English communication skills and the ability to identify faults and fix subsystem issues are essential.
