The position offers the opportunity to grow within one of the world’s largest food companies, with a strong focus on developing internal talent and enabling long-term career progression.
Key accountabilities
- Oversee around USD 50 million in spend across co-packing, distribution partnerships, new category implementation, and other recurring procurement activities.
- Contribute to the short-, medium-, and long-term commercial strategy for operations in the region and globally.
- Collaborate with major stakeholders and suppliers to shape and execute category strategies that improve service quality and deliver sustainable total cost of ownership benefits.
- Lead data-backed supplier negotiations using internal and external benchmarks, market intelligence, and supplier pricing models.
- Identify new opportunities for business growth, process enhancement, and cost reduction on a proactive and independent basis.
- Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts covering cash flow, purchase price variance, and other financial measures for the assigned categories.
Required profile
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline. MCIPS or a similar professional qualification is preferred.
Applicants should bring at least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, indirect procurement, and/or supply chain management within the food industry. Prior exposure to negotiating complex service agreements, handling several indirect categories, and managing the full RFI/RFP/RFQ cycle through contract execution is essential.
Strong capability in negotiation, contract management, communication, and relationship-building is required, along with a solid understanding of legal considerations, contractual principles, and negotiation methods used in complex agreements. Familiarity with procurement tools and platforms such as SAP, ARIBA, and COUPA is needed, as well as comfort working with supplier performance measures and KPIs. Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage.
Core competencies
- Strong understanding of the Middle East market.
- Ability to adapt respectfully across cultures and work settings.
- Capacity to juggle several projects and priorities at once.
- Analytical, solution-focused, collaborative, and results-driven approach.
- Comfort working as part of a team and meeting demanding deadlines.
