About the Role
An experienced and imaginative Art Director is needed to join the in-house Creative Agency. The role sits at the intersection of creativity and commerce, shaping compelling ideas and premium content across multiple channels.
This position requires a strong grasp of brand purpose, beauty, makeup, colour, texture and product storytelling, along with the ability to turn those elements into visually powerful assets for 360 campaigns. Experience in digital marketing campaigns and cross-channel creative delivery is important.
Reporting to the Head of Creative, 360 Campaigns and working closely with the Creative Director of Image, you will help define and deliver visual concepts for both campaigns and always-on content. You will be responsible for strong execution from concept through final output, ensuring a consistently high creative standard.
The role also acts as a key point of contact for production, post-production, casting, video, motion graphics, colour, design and digital design teams, helping protect creative intent through every stage of delivery. You will also create mood boards, storyboards, visual routes and presentation materials that communicate ideas clearly and bring concepts to life.
Working collaboratively with creatives, marketing, digital, PR and social teams, you will support campaign delivery across local markets when needed.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Creative Director, Director of Art, Director of Copy and Head of Creative on major campaign shoots and creative projects.
- Help shape creative briefs and responses with Creative Directors, Marketing and other cross-functional partners so the work stays aligned to brand goals.
- Generate ideas for both established and emerging digital channels, adapting creative appropriately for social and digital environments.
- Create visual directions, mood boards, storyboards and presentation assets that support idea development and campaign rollout.
- Show creative concepts and visual thinking to senior stakeholders, incorporate feedback constructively and refine work throughout development.
- Take ownership of the creative direction for smaller campaigns and extensions, while supporting senior leaders on larger initiatives.
- Manage the day-to-day art direction of assigned always-on campaigns, partnering with retouching and post-production teams to maintain a high visual finish.
- Support campaigns from concept to delivery, including visual ideation, shoot direction, on-set art direction and post-production for web, email, paid and organic social, video, TVC and OOH.
- Guide the creation of digital marketing assets with creative, design and marketing teams to keep outputs consistent.
- Work with NPD and Pro Artists to build understanding of new launches and the core range, ensuring creative work reflects product strategy and brand storytelling.
- Produce strong creative work that balances artistic judgement with performance insight to support effective campaign delivery.
- Explore how generative AI can support concepting, extensions and creative production where appropriate.
- Stay current with trends and developments in beauty, photography, design and post-production, applying relevant insights to work and process.
- Proactively track actions, manage creative tasks and maintain clear communication with relevant stakeholders to keep projects moving smoothly.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Art Director in beauty or luxury fashion, with a strong eye for detail and polished visual execution.
- Hands-on experience directing model and still-life shoots for both still imagery and moving image, with confidence on set and a solid grasp of lighting, composition and visual storytelling.
- Strong capability with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects.
- Sound understanding of typography, colour, layout and image-making, plus appreciation for film and motion content.
- Experience developing ideas for integrated 360 campaigns that cover hero assets, digital marketing, social, e-commerce, CRM, retail and in-store touchpoints from brief to delivery.
- Experience creating digital marketing campaigns and awareness of changing platform requirements and digital trends.
- Proven ability to work effectively with teams from different disciplines across campaign development and delivery.
- Experience collaborating with post-production specialists such as retouchers, editors, graders, flame artists and VFX artists, and giving clear creative feedback.
- Either experience using generative AI tools, or the willingness to learn them for ideation, creative development and production support.
- Strong visual research ability, with the capacity to draw inspiration from beauty, fashion, photography, film and culture.
- Experience with project management and asset management tools, combined with excellent organisation and attention to detail.
