Role Overview
As Assistant Manager Sales, you will support revenue growth for the hotel by managing key accounts, spotting market opportunities, and helping build effective sales plans for the property’s various business segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Track the market and review competitors to identify sales approaches that can generate better results.
- Build strong working relationships with existing clients as well as potential customers.
- Stay informed about local events, conventions, meetings, and other business opportunities that can drive hotel sales.
- Support the Director of Sales, Associate Director of Sales, and Sales Manager in shaping the strategic sales plan for assigned segments.
- Work toward the targets and goals set out in the organization’s strategic plan.
- Observe competitor pricing, account coverage, and promotional activity to help maintain a strong market position.
- Manage assigned accounts end to end, including contract preparation, profile updates, and contract renewals.
- Keep management informed about VIP arrivals and coordinate meet-and-greet arrangements.
- Promote hotel facilities and services through upselling and cross-selling whenever opportunities arise to increase revenue.
Qualifications
The role calls for a bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in business, hospitality management, or a similar field, though equivalent work experience may also be considered. Candidates should already have experience in a similar sales role and be comfortable working in a global environment. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
