Job description
Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Associate Engineer in Transportation to join a expanding transport engineering team in Dublin or Dundalk. The position sits within a highly connected consultancy working on some of Ireland’s most important transport infrastructure programmes.
This role offers involvement in major road, rail, public transport and active travel schemes across Ireland, with the chance to contribute across a multidisciplinary delivery environment.
What you will do
You will support the full lifecycle of transport infrastructure projects, from early-stage feasibility and concept work through preliminary design, statutory procedures, procurement support, contract documentation, construction supervision and contract administration.
The role also calls for a strong blend of technical judgment and leadership, including guiding multidisciplinary teams and helping shape practical, constructible and commercially sensible engineering outcomes.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will hold an engineering degree at Level 8 or Level 9 and have Chartered Engineer status. Prior consultancy experience is essential, along with a solid understanding of transport design standards and how to apply them in real project settings.
You should bring proven experience delivering road schemes, preferably in Ireland, together with exposure to feasibility studies, statutory approvals, detailed design, contract preparation and site supervision. Strong team leadership, commercial awareness, and excellent communication and stakeholder-handling skills are also important.
Benefits
This opportunity includes a competitive salary, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, international project exposure, and clear scope for professional growth and career progression.
Additional information
The role is based in Dublin or Dundalk and is focused on transport infrastructure delivery within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy environment.
