Job description

About the Company

KYYBA Inc., founded in 1998 and based in Farmington Hills, Michigan, operates with a global reach and provides recruiting solutions and skilled talent support to help organizations adapt to change and evolving technology. The company emphasizes employee well-being, a balanced work culture, and career growth through support, flexibility, incentives, and development opportunities.

Role Overview

This opportunity is for a highly capable Atlassian Administrator / Developer to support the Developer Tools Enablement Planning and Integration team. The role focuses on advancing the enterprise Atlassian platform portfolio and ensuring the toolset remains effective for both engineering and business teams. The position requires strong hands-on experience with Jira Cloud, Jira Service Management, Jira Product Discovery, and Assets, along with the ability to work independently in an Agile environment and contribute technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

The selected professional will help administer, improve, and expand the organization’s collaborative ecosystem, which includes Atlassian applications such as Rovo, Jira, JPD, JSM, Assets, and Goals, along with Planview Hub and other productivity tools. The work also involves supporting cloud migration efforts, solving migration-related issues, and helping ensure smooth transitions.

Configuration, Customization, and Platform Strategy

This role involves tailoring Jira workflows, screens, fields, and issue types to match changing business processes. It also includes evaluating Marketplace apps for security, efficiency, and usefulness, while contributing ideas for long-term platform direction and process improvement.

User Access, Compliance, and Governance

The administrator will manage users, groups, and permission structures across Atlassian products. A major part of the job is maintaining secure access controls and supporting audit and compliance requirements by ensuring roles and privileges are assigned appropriately.

Integrations, Automation, and Development

The position calls for designing and maintaining integrations between Atlassian tools and external systems. It also includes building automation rules, custom scripts, and API-based solutions to reduce manual work. Where standard features are not enough, the candidate should be able to develop custom applications or plugins.

System Health and Continuous Improvement

The role requires monitoring platform performance, identifying bottlenecks, resolving complex Jira issues, and improving overall reliability and usability. The candidate should document process improvements, share lessons learned, and help drive continuous optimization across the team.

Enablement, Documentation, and Training

The administrator will create and maintain documentation covering governance, best practices, and operational processes for the enterprise user community. The role also includes conducting training sessions, hosting office hours, leading group discussions, and facilitating working sessions to improve adoption and awareness.

Agile Collaboration

The chosen candidate will be an active member of an Agile team and is expected to contribute to backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives.

Experience and Technical Focus

The position calls for 6 to 10 years of overall IT experience, with at least 4 years in the relevant specialization. Strong hands-on administration of Atlassian Cloud products is essential, especially as a Jira Administrator or in a similar technical role. Familiarity with Jira Service Management, Confluence, Jira Product Discovery, and Assets is strongly preferred.

Education and Additional Notes

A bachelor’s degree is required. Atlassian Certified Professional credentials, such as Jira Administrator for Cloud, are highly desirable. The role is onsite in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. This employer is an equal opportunity provider and welcomes candidates from underrepresented groups, including minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Reasonable accommodation may be available for qualified applicants or employees with disabilities unless it creates undue hardship. Applicants needing accommodation should contact the company directly at 248-813-9665.

Rewards and Benefits

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), term life insurance, voluntary life and disability insurance, optional prepaid legal coverage, optional identity theft coverage, and optional medical and dependent FSA. The role also offers work visa sponsorship, advancement opportunities, and a long-term assignment with a chance of conversion to a client hire.
