Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Barista to join our vibrant team at Fairmont The Red Sea in Umluj, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our café operations, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service and crafting high-quality specialty beverages. You will work in a collaborative setting where your dedication to coffee excellence and genuine guest care are instrumental in creating memorable experiences. Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve specialty coffee drinks and other beverages with precision and consistency, utilizing expertise with espresso machines and various brewing methods.
• Provide warm, engaging, and professional service to all guests, proactively anticipating and exceeding their needs.
• Offer informed recommendations to guests regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation techniques in a helpful and approachable manner.
• Handle all cash transactions accurately, process payments using point-of-sale (POS) systems, and maintain meticulous financial records.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and sanitary work station and café environment, strictly adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, including equipment setup, inventory verification, and facility readiness.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations during busy and slower periods.
• Engage and attract customers through appealing product displays and knowledgeable suggestions.
• Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and undertake additional duties as required to meet operational demands.
• Uphold brand values and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction in all professional capacities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Food & Beverage and/or retail within the past two years.
• Demonstrated expertise in specialty coffee preparation and proven barista experience.
• Proficiency in operating espresso machines, grinders, and other essential café equipment.
• Strong capabilities in cash handling and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
• Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
• Sufficient physical stamina for extended periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene protocols.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possession of a beverage service certification (e.g., Pro Serve or equivalent).
• Specialty coffee certification or formal barista training.
• Prior experience in a luxury hospitality or upscale café environment.
• Multilingual capabilities, with a preference for Arabic language skills.
• Experience with inventory management and stock rotation processes.
• Knowledge of latte art and advanced coffee presentation techniques.
• Previous experience working within diverse, multicultural teams.
