Barista

Role overview

We are looking for a motivated Barista to join a major high-street brand on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week. In this role, you will prepare excellent drinks, deliver friendly service, and help create a welcoming customer experience. Working pattern

This position follows variable shift patterns.

What you will do

• Prepare well-made drinks and serve food to a high standard so customers enjoy their experience.
• Keep the bar area tidy and clean throughout the shift.
• Handle customer payments, including cash and card transactions.
• Work positively with the team and communicate clearly.
• Keep cups, mugs, plates, and other service items stocked and ready.
• Build your knowledge of brewing techniques, beverage combinations, food preparation, and presentation.
• Check that coffee and brewing equipment is working properly and flag any maintenance issues.
• Represent the Costa brand professionally and help maintain a strong brand image.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
• Comply with health and safety rules at all times.

What we are looking for

• Someone who communicates well and can quickly build positive relationships.
• Previous experience in customer-facing service roles.
• A proactive, motivated attitude with a focus on doing the job well.
• Good judgement and the confidence to make decisions that benefit customers.
• Practical experience using brewing equipment.
• The ability to stay effective under pressure.
• Strong punctuality and dependability.
