Role overview
This position is centered on drafting and BIM modelling support for the office, with a strong emphasis on Revit and AutoCAD-based coordination work.
What you will do
- Support the team with CAD drafting, BIM modelling, and design assistance.
- Manage and coordinate Revit models across projects.
- Develop Revit families and CAD blocks as required.
- Take on drafting or design tasks assigned by project managers.
- Check work carefully to confirm it is complete and accurate before submission.
- Follow project quality-control checklists and deliver work to agreed deadlines.
- Track and report time spent on each project on a weekly basis, including clear task descriptions.
- Handle printing and plotting requests.
- Work in line with professional ethics and standards.
- Show initiative in learning new digital design tools.
- Ensure work complies with approved BIM Execution Plans and BIM Scope Plans.
- Set up base project files.
- Build composite design models for coordination meetings.
- Use composite models during design coordination and clash detection sessions, and prepare reports identifying and resolving hard and soft clashes.
- Manage BIM file exchanges and archive milestone submissions.
Experience and technical background
The role calls for more than two years of experience with Revit and more than two years of experience with AutoCAD. A working understanding of MEP/FP systems is also needed, along with practical exposure to Autodesk Revit and other BIM-related software. Strong familiarity with legacy CAD tools and workflows, especially AutoCAD, is important. Experience with design visualization tools such as Autodesk 360 Cloud Rendering, 3D Studio Max, and Navisworks is also desirable.
