Business Analyst

Role overview

This contract Business Analyst position is based in Toronto, Ontario, with an expectation of working onsite four days each week. The compensation is CAD 45 per hour, and interviews are conducted in person at the office.

What you will do

• Review business and system requirements, translate them into documented needs, and compare possible solution paths before recommending the technology approach that best fits the sponsor’s goals.
• Run meetings with small and large groups to gather requirements, support technical design discussions, help teams make decisions, solve problems, and move work into implementation.
• Take ownership of detailed design activities and decide the right combination of system configuration, application development, interfaces, and third-party vendor tools to satisfy business and project needs.
• Prepare functional specifications, component test plans, and configuration-related documentation in detail.
• Maintain clear communication and strong working relationships with stakeholders, team members, and interface groups throughout the full project lifecycle.

Required background

• Hands-on experience in the retail banking domain.
• Prior involvement in requirements workshops and system requirements documentation.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills, along with solid facilitation and presentation ability.
• At least one end-to-end implementation project completed.
• Working knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Mural.
• Ability to map processes using tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
• Willingness to support the Scrum Master when needed.
