Role summary

This position involves handling advanced service-engineering work across international locations, directly at customer sites. The role also includes leading a group of field service engineers and technicians while delivering a high standard of technical support for maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and inspections of complex equipment and related auxiliary systems in workshops, onshore locations, offshore environments, and in the field.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, repairs, major overhauls, and maintenance on machines, engines, turbochargers, and associated systems, following approved work instructions and procedures.
  • Draft SOPs and help maintain strong service quality by planning schedules, tracking project progress, and monitoring quality and turnaround times.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HSE expectations, including LMRA implementation and correct PPE usage.
  • Organize service work in advance by arranging manpower, tools, spare parts, consumables, and timelines.
  • Review technical drawings, manuals, and reports so the work is executed correctly.
  • Guide, coach, and provide technical support to service technicians, engineers, and outside personnel during site operations.
  • Assist customers with technical expertise, commissioning work, preventive maintenance guidance, and assembly/disassembly coordination.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, manage warranty-related matters, and recommend corrective and preventive measures in coordination with headquarters.
  • Compile daily and final service reports, evaluate maintenance data, and suggest technical enhancements.
  • Work with internal teams, travel to job locations as needed, and help ensure efficient service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related equivalent qualification.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience, ideally in heavy equipment, marine operations, or power generation environments.
  • Solid understanding of business from both technical and commercial perspectives.
  • Practical knowledge of work preparation, project coordination, and team leadership.
  • Awareness of HSE, environmental, quality, and safety standards.
  • Preparedness to travel internationally as required.
  • Capability to prepare technical documentation and reports using Microsoft Office.

Preferred profile

  • Exposure to engine systems and related accessories and auxiliaries such as separators, coolers, and filters.
  • Experience working with third-party service level agreements.
  • Formal management training.
  • Understanding of process measurement technology.
