Role Summary
The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and leads operational, clinical, and administrative functions for the Children’s Residential Treatment Program.
Operational Duties
- Direct the daily functioning of Evergreen Center’s Residential Treatment program.
- Execute and track initiatives that align with the Board-approved strategic plan.
- Lead Executive Team and Manager meetings for the Children’s Residential Treatment Program.
- Oversee the rollout and adherence to administrative policies and procedures.
- Manage personnel-related matters such as training, performance reviews, promotions and demotions, schedule adjustments, conflict resolution, incident reporting, and follow-up actions.
- Serve as the on-site coordination point and connect the program with HR, IT, Facilities, QA, and other support functions.
Clinical Duties
- Review and supervise behavioral and clinical activities.
- Ensure restraints, time-outs, and other reportable clinical events are documented and reported to licensing agencies as required.
- Work with other executives and the Director of Professional Development to coordinate clinical growth initiatives and training.
Additional Duties
- As needed, lead internal review groups and ensure appropriate follow-up is completed.
- Take part in the Parent Advisory Council and the Human Rights Committee for Children’s Residential Treatment.
Qualifications
The role calls for a doctoral degree in special education, psychology, or a closely related discipline; a master’s degree may be considered if the candidate is enrolled in a doctoral program. Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification is required. The position also requires ten years of relevant clinical and leadership experience working with people who have multiple challenges. Massachusetts school administrator of special education certification and Massachusetts teacher certification in special education are preferred. Strong communication skills are needed to work effectively with students, families, staff, management teams, and public safety officials.
