Role Overview

The Community Manager will oversee the development and day-to-day health of both online and offline communities. This position is based in Lagos and includes some flexibility to work remotely. The role centers on encouraging active participation, maintaining a welcoming environment, and ensuring members have a positive and engaging experience.

Key Duties

This role includes developing and sharing content, keeping community conversations constructive and active, planning and running community events, and tracking engagement data to identify ways to improve results. The Community Manager will also work closely with internal teams to make sure community initiatives support wider business priorities.

Qualifications

Applicants should have strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities. Experience in social media management, content development, and community engagement is important, along with the ability to interpret engagement data and turn it into useful strategy improvements. Comfort using digital communication and content tools is expected. Candidates should also bring problem-solving skills, a calm approach to conflict resolution, and the ability to create a positive community culture. Experience building active communities in both online and offline settings is highly relevant. Knowledge of the tech sector and current industry trends is an added advantage. A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a closely related field is preferred.
