Role overview
Birchman is hiring a Consulting Analyst for a 16-week internship based in Bracknell, England, United Kingdom. The assignment may lead to a permanent position. In this role, you will support client work across strategic, operational, and digital transformation programmes, gaining exposure to business transformation, operating model design, technology transformation, and change management.
What you will do
You will work alongside experienced consultants and clients on meaningful engagements, helping with planning, analysis, delivery, and communication across several workstreams.
- Keep project plans, issue/risk logs, and progress updates current.
- Support programme governance, status reporting, and client communications.
- Assist with stakeholder engagement, training coordination, and change-related activities.
- Document current-state business processes and organisational structures.
- Help shape future operating models and identify improvement opportunities.
- Review existing systems and contribute to technology strategy work.
- Support system selection activities and roadmap development.
- Assist with delivery of digital and business transformation initiatives.
- Use data to spot inefficiencies and recommend ways to improve processes.
- Carry out research and analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Break down business problems and help build recommendations.
- Create polished presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Prepare decks for client meetings and steering committees.
- Analyse information in Excel to produce insights and support recommendations.
- Help run client workshops and record outputs clearly.
- Map and refine business processes.
- Track milestones and manage key deliverables.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical thinking, confidence with Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to communicate clearly and in a structured way. Attention to detail is important, along with a curious, proactive mindset. You should be comfortable in a fast-moving environment and willing to take initiative, learn quickly, and take responsibility for your work.
