Role overview
The custodian is accountable for keeping company premises clean, sanitary, and well-maintained in line with organizational standards.
Key responsibilities
- Clean the terminal using hand brooms, power scrubbers, sweepers, and vacuum cleaners to meet company housekeeping standards.
- Collect and dispose of waste from offices, restrooms, break rooms, and the building each day, making sure bins are emptied and kept clean.
- Keep restroom areas supplied with the required materials.
- Move, reposition, and adjust office furniture when needed.
- Monitor pest-control systems and ensure sanitation and housekeeping standards remain at the highest level.
- Clear ice and snow from walkways used by pedestrians and from parking areas.
- Keep the company grounds free of trash and debris.
- Prepare labor and equipment reports as required by the company.
- Maintain records of repair history by equipment type.
- Complete accurate logs, records, and reports as needed.
- Escalate any safety concerns to the shift supervisor.
- Follow OSHA and MSDS requirements.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
