Job description
Role overview
The Digital Programme Manager for the Securing the Future (StF) programme will support the digital workstream by coordinating and driving delivery across a portfolio of projects. The role involves working with internal teams and external partners to make sure project goals are achieved and that delivery stays aligned with programme needs, technical expectations, and Trust priorities.
This position calls for strong capability in programme and project planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement. The post holder will bring together workstream leads, consultants, specialist advisers, and other stakeholders to keep project activity moving smoothly.
In addition, the role includes leadership responsibility for project teams and outside delivery partners, along with support and direction for the Digital Business Analyst and/or project support colleagues. The post holder will help manage partner performance so that outcomes are delivered effectively.
What the role will lead
Within the StF programme, the Digital Programme Manager will oversee a defined set of digital projects and initiatives that support the new hospital development and the wider transformation agenda. Working in a matrix programme structure and reporting to the StF Digital Lead, the role holder will operate with a high level of independence to design and deliver digital elements in line with the programme’s strategic direction.
Key areas of responsibility
- Provide digital leadership by developing and applying strategies, standards, and policies for the new hospital programme, while helping shape the wider Trust and partner approach in line with national digital health priorities.
- Lead major digital programmes made up of several complex projects, from early setup through to delivery, with attention to benefits realisation, strong governance, and value for money.
- Own the digital portfolio for the workstream, acting as the Trust’s accountable lead with external suppliers and partner organisations, and ensuring solutions are safe, efficient, and fit for future patient care and hospital operations.
- Work with clinical and non-clinical service units to identify, define, and translate digital needs that will improve efficiency in the new healthcare facility.
Benefits
The Trust offers a broad employee benefits package, including Cycle to Work, a Travel Scheme, childcare vouchers through salary sacrifice, an onsite nursery, annual leave buy-and-sell options, car leasing, an Employee Assistance Programme, health and wellbeing support, an extensive rewards scheme, counselling services, financial tools such as Vivup and Wagestream, and staff networks including Enable, Rainbow, Gender, Race Equality, Ecoaware, and Admin Network.
Values
Employees are expected to reflect the Trust’s values, which are central to its culture and patient care approach: Committed to Quality of Care, Compassion, Working together for patients, Improving Lives, Everyone Counts, and Respect and Dignity.
