Job description

Role Profile

Telecel Ghana is seeking a dynamic Digital Transformation Manager to spearhead its Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation (DT) initiatives. This role is crucial for integrating telecom and fintech services, improving customer experiences, digitizing operations, and generating new revenue streams through innovative digital and mobile money solutions. The objective is to transition Telecel Ghana from a traditional telecommunications company to a digital-first, platform-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Telecel Ghana's digital transformation strategy, focusing on data, digital services, and Telecel Cash, to align with company growth objectives.
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging digital revenue opportunities beyond traditional voice and data services.
  • Spearhead the development and execution of Telecel Ghana's Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy.
  • Facilitate the seamless integration of telecom services with the Telecel Cash mobile money platform.
  • Lead the digitization of financial services, including payments, remittances, merchant services, micro-lending, and airtime/data bundling through the wallet.
  • Foster collaborations with financial institutions, fintech companies, and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with Bank of Ghana regulations.
  • Enhance the user adoption and performance of digital platforms such as the Telecel Play App & Web, Chatbot, and other digital touchpoints.
  • Oversee the complete redesign of customer journeys across digital channels, airtime/data purchases, and mobile money transactions.
  • Drive the creation of new digital products, including digital lending and savings, merchant and SME solutions, and bundled content and lifestyle services.
  • Automate critical backend processes such as customer onboarding, KYC verification, customer support, and financial reconciliation.
  • Achieve operational cost reductions by digitizing customer interactions and service delivery mechanisms.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making across all commercial and operational teams.
  • Cultivate an API ecosystem to facilitate partnerships with fintechs, aggregators, and developers.
  • Support the migration towards scalable, cloud-based architectures.
  • Champion a cultural shift towards digital adoption throughout Telecel Ghana.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 8 to 12 years of professional experience in telecommunications, fintech, or digital transformation roles is necessary.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale transformation projects is essential.
  • A strong background in providing strategic, analytical, and research insights, coupled with a structured approach to thinking and communication, is expected.
  • Previous experience working within a digital-native, tech-focused, or startup environment is advantageous.
