Job description

Job Purpose

The Electrical Technician will handle the installation, operation, servicing, and repair of electrical infrastructure across Salayel Hospitality properties. The role is focused on keeping guests safe and comfortable while ensuring hotel operations run without interruption and remain aligned with hospitality quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive upkeep and corrective repairs for electrical installations such as lighting, power circuits, sockets, switches, panels, and control equipment.
  • Look after low-voltage systems, distribution boards, motor control centers, emergency lighting, and UPS units wherever they are in use.
  • Diagnose electrical issues, resolve faults efficiently, and attend breakdowns and guest service requests in a timely manner.
  • Inspect electrical assets regularly in guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and plant rooms.
  • Make sure all electrical tasks follow UAE electrical regulations and safety requirements.
  • Assist with checking and maintaining fire alarm and other life safety systems when needed.
  • Work with supervisors and outside contractors as required to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records, checklists, and job/work orders.
  • Adhere to hotel standard operating procedures, safety rules, and brand expectations at all times.
  • Be available for emergency call-outs and rostered shift work whenever needed.

Qualifications and Experience

The role calls for an ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, along with 2 to 5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician, ideally in hotels or serviced apartments. Candidates should have practical knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and a basic understanding of fire alarm and emergency power systems. Familiarity with UAE safety standards is important. The job also requires the ability to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duties, plus basic English communication skills; Arabic will be an added advantage.
