Engineer (Civil) - QA/QC

Role Overview

Larsen & Toubro is hiring a Civil QA/QC Engineer for its Dubai project operations. The position focuses on maintaining construction quality standards, verifying compliance with approved project documentation, and supporting the successful execution and handover of structural works.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and put into practice the Project Quality Plan (PQP) along with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Make sure every site activity follows the approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Inspect and approve construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, concrete, and related items.
• Examine material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings for correctness and compliance.
• Work closely with consultants, contractors, and site engineers during inspection activities.
• Raise non-conformance reports when needed and track them through closure.
• Carry out site quality checks and prepare inspection reports.
• Verify that structural elements such as footings, columns, beams, and slabs are executed properly.
• Confirm reinforcement placement against approved drawings before any concreting work begins.
• Observe field tests including slump tests, cube tests, and soil compaction tests.
• Keep quality records, checklists, and all supporting documentation up to date.
• Oversee concrete pouring and confirm that curing procedures are properly followed.
• Maintain alignment with both safety expectations and quality requirements.
• Spot quality defects and suggest corrective and preventive measures.
• Take part in internal audits and project quality meetings.
• Ensure inspection and testing equipment remains properly calibrated.
• Track subcontractor performance and workmanship quality.
• Prepare quality reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Follow ISO standards wherever they apply.
• Support project handover by ensuring completed works are backed by proper documentation.
