Role Overview

Marafiq is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee engineering coordination for a project in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This role is focused on ensuring that engineering work is properly planned, reviewed, integrated, and delivered in line with project scope, quality expectations, schedule, and budget.

What You Will Do

• Gain a thorough understanding of the project’s engineering scope and track engineering progress to confirm that project needs are being met.
• Manage coordination across internal teams, external partners, discipline engineers, and contractors, including all cross-discipline interfaces.
• Make sure engineering needs are correctly reflected in all deliverables and project documents.
• Work with engineers, cost estimators, internal stakeholders, and contractors to clarify project performance expectations.
• Review and coordinate engineering development work, whether prepared internally or by third parties, so scope, specifications, and deliverables remain aligned with requirements.
• Prepare and coordinate documents needed to support project stage deliverables up to Final Investment Decision (FID), or from FID through project close-out.
• Lead coordination of project-specific design reviews.
• Develop the overall engineering plan for the project.
• Report engineering progress against requirements, quality targets, and schedule commitments.
• Identify issues or gaps, assess their impact, and propose solutions to close engineering requirements.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for engineering disciplines.
• Partner with the QA/QC team to ensure compliance with quality assurance and control requirements.
• Support the closure of QA/QC non-conformities.
• Contribute to internal and external technical reviews.
• Act as a link between engineering, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Where needed, support plant design and constructability reviews.
• Help shape procurement and contracting strategies.
• Support technical negotiations and technical bid evaluations for packages and other high-value equipment.
• Recommend process improvements and help implement controls and instructions to meet procedural, legislative, cost, and quality requirements.
• Ensure all work follows applicable safety, quality, and environmental management systems.
• Support the review and approval or rejection of change orders.
• Work with the commissioning authority to resolve critical engineering issues.
• Take part in site reviews and attend construction-site meetings as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience in engineering design or project roles within industrial engineering, construction, or process-related environments.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

The role requires strong coordination skills across engineering, construction, commissioning, procurement, QA/QC, and commercial stakeholders, along with the ability to manage technical reviews, design interfaces, and project controls.

All work must be carried out in line with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
