- Work as part of the global client events team and contribute to initiatives in other offices when needed to create a consistent client experience across the firm.
- Handle all event logistics, including venue sourcing, vendor coordination, contract review and negotiation, and on-site execution.
- Create fresh event ideas and agendas that reflect practice group needs and wider business development strategy.
- Prepare event estimates and manage budgets to deliver programs efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Guide partners and stakeholders through the event planning process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and audience expectations.
- Bring forward new ideas and improvement opportunities while working within established team standards and best practices.
- Review event outcomes after each program, including return on investment and stakeholder feedback, to support ongoing improvements.
- Maintain accurate event and program data, with timely reporting of KPIs for client reviews, practice reviews, and knowledge strategy needs.
- Support global event tracking and reporting efforts.
- Ensure CLE and educational programs meet MCLE accreditation requirements and advise attorneys and staff on compliance matters.
- Mentor and support 1 to 3 junior team members and help build a collaborative, high-performing environment.
- Track industry trends, competitor activity, and new event technologies to keep programs modern and competitive.
- Use strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to manage unexpected issues calmly and effectively during events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in a law firm, professional services firm, or a similarly fast-paced client service environment.
- Strong event planning and execution experience across in-person and virtual formats.
- Ability to manage budgets, vendors, contracts, and event logistics with accuracy.
- Knowledge of CLE/MCLE compliance requirements is important.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to stay composed and solve problems effectively under pressure.
- Comfort working collaboratively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Interest in event innovation, reporting, and continuous improvement.
