Job description

Role overview

This position is based in Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad and focuses on laboratory operations, sample management, documentation, and compliance activities within a quality-controlled environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled water sampling in line with approved methods and complete testing with proper online records.
  • Sample raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables on time, test them against approved specifications and procedures, and document the results digitally.
  • Arrange dispatch and monitor the movement of raw material and packaging material samples sent to external laboratories for outsourced testing.
  • Draft specifications for raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables in the required QC format after receiving inputs from R&D, and keep specifications and standard test procedures aligned with pharmacopoeial updates.
  • Prepare user requirement specifications, qualification protocols, and related reports for equipment associated with raw materials and packaging materials.
  • Create study protocols and reports for raw material and packaging material work.
  • Perform in-house calibration and verification of raw material and packaging material equipment according to approved procedures and defined frequency.
  • Maintain routine laboratory temperature logs and keep them updated.
  • Escalate deviations, out-of-specification results, and safety concerns to the supervisor whenever identified.
  • Attend GMP, on-the-job, and other assigned trainings as outlined in the approved training matrix.
  • Manage retention samples online and ensure their destruction is completed on schedule as per approved procedures.
  • Initiate timely procurement of chemicals, reagents, consumables, and standards, and keep inventory records current.
  • Support cGMP adherence in the laboratory.
  • Maintain workplace safety standards.
  • Follow the current and future EHS management system requirements, procedures, guidelines, policies, practices, and legal obligations applicable at the site.

Experience

The role requires 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.

Education

A Master’s degree in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry is required.
