Job summary

This role is focused on locating outside-plant fiber and coax infrastructure. The position involves identifying both underground and above-ground assets and capturing the required attribute details. The work is independent in nature and requires a strong commitment to safety.

Metro Communications Company, operated by MCC Network Services, LLC, is a long-standing regional telecom provider that designs, builds, and runs fiber-optic networks for wireless, enterprise, education, and wholesale customers. Established in 2000, the company oversees more than 3,500 miles of network and is still growing into new markets each year.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a valid Illinois driver’s license, a clean driving history, and previous experience in utility locating. The role also requires the ability to travel, comfort with basic computer use, and the discipline to work in right-of-way areas while following IDOT safety standards.

Preferred experience

Extra advantage will be given to candidates familiar with coordinate systems and datums, locate-testing tools, Google Earth, KMZ file interpretation and creation, and reading as-builts.

Compensation and benefits

The hourly pay range is $22 to $28. Benefits include 401(k) matching, paid time off, dental coverage, health insurance, life insurance, and vision insurance.
