Job description
About the Role
Northpower is seeking a capable, safety-minded Faultperson who performs well in a busy setting and is motivated by helping restore electricity for local communities. The position is essential to maintaining a network that remains safe, dependable, and operating efficiently, including during scheduled work, unexpected outages, and urgent incidents.
Key Responsibilities
You will undertake approved switching, testing, and earthing of network assets during both planned and unplanned events, with a strong focus on safe and dependable network operation. When faults occur, you will diagnose issues, secure hazards, and restore supply as quickly and safely as possible. This includes providing emergency assistance such as isolating electrical hazards at accident scenes and managing risks effectively.
The role also requires you to ensure work is delivered to operational, regulatory, and customer standards, and wherever possible, exceeds them. You will contribute to performance outcomes and service targets, while using sound judgement to work through complex problems under pressure and apply practical solutions.
In addition, you will help guide and support other team members through day-to-day supervision and hands-on assistance. This includes allocating work according to individual skills and competency, managing workloads, and supporting the growth of others. By encouraging collaboration and open communication, you will help build a positive, high-performing team environment and demonstrate behaviours aligned with Northpower’s values.
