Job description
Togather is a dynamic team at the forefront of creating exceptional events. As a founder-led company comprising over 50 event specialists, we are involved in some of the UK's most significant and exciting events. Our Marketplace connects B2B and B2C clients with outstanding suppliers for food, beverages, and venues, catering to private events ranging from large corporate parties to regular office lunches for prominent clients like Spotify, Netflix, and the BBC. Our Live division partners with organizers of large-scale public events, leveraging our advanced technology and industry acumen to curate and deliver unparalleled food and drink experiences that also yield strong commercial outcomes for our clients. We collaborate closely with client teams to ensure outstanding guest experiences at major festivals, stadium fanzones, and cultural celebrations for clients such as GALA festival, Rock Oyster, Hill Dickinson Stadium, and Pride in London. We are proud to be recognized by Tempo and the Startups 100 Awards as one of the UK's premier workplaces, fostering an ambitious, supportive, and high-achieving team environment. Founded 10 years ago as Feast It, we have grown from a small startup to powering over 10 million guest experiences annually, all while staying true to our mission: To make events better for everyone.
The RoleWe are seeking a hands-on, commercially astute Financial Controller to assume complete responsibility for the group's financial operations. Our finance function has evolved organically rather than by strategic design. As we expand across two distinct businesses, manage a significant profit-share partnership, and prepare for a potential sale, we require a skilled senior leader to consolidate our financial processes and elevate our standards. This position represents a step up from its predecessor, with the successful candidate owning the entire group profit-and-loss, ensuring a precise and timely financial close, optimizing working capital, and establishing the robust financial infrastructure expected by potential acquirers. While we plan to support this role with a fractional CFO for high-level strategic guidance, the day-to-day financial management and reporting quality will be your domain. Initially, you will report to the Chief of Staff. This role is envisioned as a key position with substantial potential for growth as the finance function matures, offering pathways to more senior finance leadership or the opportunity to build and shape your own finance team. The extent of your career progression is genuinely in your hands.
Why this role is more senior than the one before itThe financial landscape has become considerably more intricate. We now operate two businesses following the acquisition of Field Vision Bars, the Live Nation partnership necessitates its own profit-and-loss and cash flow analysis, intra-group recharges require meticulous management, and an audit is anticipated next year. These factors demand a more adept and autonomous finance leader than a direct replacement – someone capable of managing relationships with advisors and the broader team effectively, without needing constant founder oversight.
Additional InformationThis role offers a hybrid working model, requiring three days per week in the office.
Terms & ConditionsThe role involves a 25-day generous holiday allowance, which includes a Christmas closure period, in addition to bank holidays. Employees are offered an enhanced pension scheme through salary sacrifice. A comprehensive benefits platform, Mintago, provides access to an Employee Assistance Program, Workplace Nursery, Cycle to Work scheme, Electric Car scheme, various health and mental health services, gym discounts, and retail savings. Additionally, a partnership with the Code app offers significant discounts at numerous London establishments. Enhanced maternity and paternity leave are provided. The office is equipped with complimentary coffee, beer, pizza, and an extensive snack selection. Regular team social events, including bi-weekly Town Halls with company-wide social gatherings and an annual away day, are organized. Employees will receive a new MacBook for their work. There are frequent opportunities to attend food industry events, often with complimentary food. The office environment is dog-friendly.
