Role overview

DSV is expanding its global logistics and transport network, and this opening is for an Air Export Freight Forwarder based in Shannon, County Clare. The position runs Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 20:30, with a 37.5-hour working week. The salary range is €30,000 to €45,000 per year.

In this role, you will handle international air export shipments from the initial booking stage through to departure. The job is focused on keeping cargo moving reliably, meeting regulatory requirements, and delivering a high standard of service to customers across different time zones. Because the shift is in the evening, you will also support late-day operations and ensure smooth transfer of work to teams in other regions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee air export shipments from booking through to uplift and departure.
• Secure space with airlines and co-loading partners.
• Create and release export paperwork such as MAWB, HAWB, manifests, and invoices.
• Make sure shipments follow IATA rules, customs requirements, and security standards.
• Plan cargo handling, acceptance, and uplift timing.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers, sharing updates and addressing concerns.
• Track shipments closely and keep system records accurate and current.
• Work with DSV offices worldwide, airlines, and other service providers.
• Help ensure a clean handover to colleagues in other time zones.
• Check supplier invoices and support correct customer billing.

Candidate profile

• Previous experience in air freight forwarding, preferably in exports.
• Practical knowledge of air export processes and IATA regulations.
• Understanding of customs procedures and export documentation.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail in a busy environment.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and handle workload efficiently.
• Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Experience using freight forwarding systems; CargoWise is an advantage.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Proactive working style with a strong team mindset.
