Role overview
This position supports a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store in providing health, beauty, and convenience services to the community, while keeping customer care at the center of daily operations. The role focuses on overseeing front-store customer service activities, including cashier operations and merchandising.
Key duties
- Oversee cashier and merchandising staff to ensure store policies and operating procedures are followed consistently.
- Provide training, direction, and ongoing support to cashiers and merchandisers.
- Maintain loss-prevention standards, including daily cash office inventory, cashier reconciliation tracking, tracking sheets, and PC Optimum procedures.
- Ensure store staff follow the required uniform and customer-facing presentation standards.
- Handle customer questions about product locations, rain checks, and related store matters.
- Resolve customer concerns such as refunds and exchanges in line with established guidelines.
- Support and encourage participation in the CSI Survey.
- Keep shelves clean, orderly, and properly rotated.
- Set up and remove product displays as directed by the AFSM/FSM.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and an overall professional store image.
- Follow all health and safety rules.
- Complete clerical and banking tasks when needed.
- Adhere to all store, operational, and loss-prevention policies and procedures.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned, including cashier duties when required.
Skills and attributes
