Job description

Role overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned spaces so they meet the expectations of customers, clients, and patients. Duties can differ by Aramark site depending on client needs and business requirements.

Key duties

  • Follow established safety practices and work in line with OSHA, local, state, federal, and Aramark rules to maintain a safe environment.
  • Clean and disinfect patient or resident rooms, including vacuuming, high and low dusting, making and stripping beds, and handling regular and hazardous waste.
  • Sanitize restrooms while following the correct infection-control procedures.
  • Use, care for, and clean housekeeping equipment properly.
  • Keep assigned areas clean to the standards set by Aramark and the client.
  • Collect, sort, store, and move trash to the designated disposal areas.
  • Escalate maintenance issues by submitting work orders to the right team.
  • Provide courteous, efficient, and positive service to customers, clients, patients, and coworkers, while adapting to changing needs.
  • Lock and unlock the facility as required and help protect company property.
  • Carry out additional tasks assigned by the manager.

Working conditions

Job responsibilities may be adjusted or expanded without advance notice based on operational needs. The role can involve physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing. Uniforms and/or personal protective equipment may be required.

Qualifications

Prior custodial or housekeeping experience is preferred. Candidates should be able to follow basic safety instructions and precautions.
