You will serve as a patient ambassador, ensuring cleanliness and adhering to strict infection control procedures.

What You'll Do

• Act as a patient ambassador, interacting with patients during cleaning duties.
• Utilize appropriate chemicals and techniques to clean and sanitize assigned areas, following all infection control protocols.
• Adhere to a duty list checklist for daily tasks.
• Perform floor care and maintenance, including burnishing, stripping, recoating, and bonneting, if qualified.
• Manage linen levels, ensuring timely and positive interactions between linen supply and receiving areas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of department policies and procedures.
• Execute the 10-Step Cleaning method and other specific requirements as per assigned duties.
• Incorporate scripting and the GREAT method into daily tasks.
• Follow all EPIC policies and procedures according to Department standards.
• Promptly report any maintenance or repair needs to management or note them on the daily checklist.
• Perform related tasks such as changing curtains and stocking supplies.
• Maintain all equipment, tools, and storage areas in a clean, orderly, and functional condition.
• Manage inventory levels for linen carts and unit supplies, ensuring par levels are met.
• Restock and deliver clean linen to various hospital locations, including clinics and external couriers.
• Unload clean linen deliveries, verifying counts against invoices.
• Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the inventory room.
• Address any concerns that arise during service delivery by contacting your Direct Supervisor.
• Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with hospital staff, including nurses, clinicians, and other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This role involves Medium Work, requiring the exertion of up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects. Specific physical demands include occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, and typing/dexterity. Frequent grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, and walking are required. Occasional kneeling, stooping, and visual acuity (color, depth, perception) are also necessary. Fit testing is constant.

Hazards and Working Conditions

Potential hazards include occasional exposure to bodily fluids, bloodborne pathogens, burns, and electrical risks. Frequent exposure to chemicals and mechanical hazards is expected. Working conditions may involve occasional extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, wetness, humidity, dust, fumes, gases, mists, and odors.

Pay Range

The salary range for this position is USD $16.98 to $25.47 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation.
