Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Human Resources Assistant to support employees through leave-of-absence processes and help keep leave administration accurate, compliant, and well-organized. This remote contract role is suited to someone who is detail-oriented, empathetic, and comfortable handling a busy and evolving workload.
The assignment is expected to run for 6+ months and offers pay of $20–$21 per hour.
What You’ll Do
In this position, you will help manage employee leave cases, ensure documentation is handled properly, and provide responsive support throughout the leave journey. The role requires careful coordination, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of service.
Core Qualifications
Candidates should bring either a bachelor’s degree or more than 3 years of experience in leave administration. A solid understanding of federal and state leave regulations, including FMLA, is important, along with at least 3 years of customer service experience and strong verbal communication skills. Organization, multitasking, accuracy, and problem-solving are essential, as is comfort using the MS Office Suite.
Preferred Background
Applicants with experience using leave management systems or related software will be especially well-suited. Prior success working with HR teams and management, plus a history of handling leave requests and related documentation in high-volume environments, will be an advantage.
Additional Requirements
The ideal candidate must be able to handle confidential information responsibly, perform effectively in a fast-changing environment, and participate in ongoing training and development. A bilingual English/Spanish background is a plus. The role also calls for someone dependable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision.
