Job description

Role overview

The Human Resources Operations Generalist is responsible for carrying out core HR operations with a strong focus on data quality, workforce reporting, and advanced analysis. This position turns workforce information into practical recommendations that support growth in a fast-moving environment. It also requires partnering with leaders, applying sound judgment, and taking ownership of complex issues from start to finish.

This is a business-facing role that expects a thoughtful, data-backed perspective. The ideal person will question assumptions, test conclusions against the evidence, and bring clear recommendations rather than simply executing instructions.

Reporting line and classification

Reports to: Senior Human Resources Manager

Pay classification: Full-time, exempt

Key responsibilities

  • Work with employees and people leaders on employee relations and performance matters, offering guidance that aligns with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop, refine, and strengthen HR processes so they can support business growth and scale effectively.
  • Identify workforce risks and opportunities early, define the right questions to ask, and present recommended next steps without waiting for direction.
  • Review HR information from multiple systems such as HRIS, performance, and engagement platforms, checking the data closely, validating what it truly indicates, and challenging weak conclusions.
  • Influence HR policies and programs by combining analysis, external benchmarks, and a well-formed point of view.
  • Create both recurring and ad hoc HR reports and analyses while maintaining accuracy and consistent reporting methods.
  • Advise HR and business leaders on compliance matters involving FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and related legal requirements.
  • Stay current on U.S. federal and state employment laws and compliance obligations.

Minimum qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field, and bring 2 to 4 years of experience in human resources, consulting, or professional services. The role also calls for solid HR analytics and reporting experience, along with a strong understanding of HR functions.

Applicants must be comfortable using advanced software tools, including MS Office, and willing to learn new HRIS platforms as needed.

Skills and working style

The right candidate will present confidently in a leader-facing environment, pay close attention to detail, and think analytically. They should be able to spot patterns, anomalies, and trends in large data sets and turn those findings into clear business actions.

Success in this role also depends on intellectual curiosity, a tendency to ask why before accepting an answer, and an ownership mindset that can take an ambiguous problem through to a practical recommendation. Strong judgment is essential when dealing with confidential, legal, or sensitive information. Advanced Excel skills are expected, and familiarity with AI tools such as Claude or Copilot is considered useful for speeding up analysis and reporting.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance

  • 401(k) plan with employer match
