Role overview

Allied Universal is seeking a full-time Janitor in Viera West, Florida. This position focuses on general cleaning and upkeep across assigned indoor spaces, which may include one building or several client locations. The work requires adaptability, since duties can shift based on each client’s requirements.

Pay and schedule

• Hourly pay: $14.00
• Shift: Afternoon
• Workdays: Monday through Sunday
• Payment frequency: Weekly

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for keeping assigned areas clean, safe, and presentable. Tasks may include maintaining floors, restrooms, common areas, and other shared spaces, along with using cleaning products and equipment appropriately.

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum different types of floor surfaces
• Use cleaning chemicals and power equipment safely to avoid damage to surfaces and furnishings
• Keep restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entry areas clean and monitored
• Remove waste from trash containers and dispose of it correctly, including using a compactor when needed
• Wash windows, glass panels, and mirrors with suitable products and tools
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and support carpet extraction and shampooing work
• Restock paper goods and hygiene supplies
• Work according to the housekeeping schedule
• Operate heavy-duty cleaning tools such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers when required
• Take on additional duties as needed based on the scope of work or customer requests

Qualifications

Applicants should either hold a high school diploma or equivalent, or have at least six months of experience in a janitorial role. The employer will provide training on the job. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions are important for this position.

• Ability to understand and follow directions well

Preferred background

Experience in cleaning, custodial work, industrial cleaning, or facilities maintenance is considered an advantage. Familiarity with commercial cleaning expectations and floor care methods such as buffing and waxing is also beneficial.
