About the Role

At Soho House, the Kitchen Porter is essential for the seamless functioning of the kitchen. This role involves the thorough cleaning and upkeep of all kitchenware, including pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and glassware. The primary focus is on upholding high standards of hygiene and safety, managing waste disposal, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and back-of-house areas.

Key Duties

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize all kitchen items such as pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware according to daily operational demands.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning machinery following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste properly, ensuring bins are emptied and the surrounding areas remain clean and tidy throughout the shift.
• Strictly adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices, including HACCP, in compliance with UK regulations.
• Follow established cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assist the kitchen team by restocking supplies, reporting low inventory, and providing support during busy service periods.
• Handle kitchen equipment and items with care to prevent damage and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Replenish necessary supplies like toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials.
• Safely manage and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.

What We Are Looking For

A successful Kitchen Porter at Soho House should ideally possess up to two years of experience in a demanding, high-profile establishment and demonstrate a natural aptitude for delivering exceptional service. You should be dependable, personable, and eager to be an integral part of a team dedicated to achieving success.

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
• Dependability, discretion, and a professional demeanor.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Capacity to receive and implement feedback to ensure member satisfaction.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in understanding and following both written and verbal instructions.

Pay Range: £14.50 - £14.50 GBP per hour
