Job description
Role overview
Soho House & Co is looking for an experienced Night Porter for Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton. In this role, you will be one of the first points of contact for guests and members, helping create a welcoming experience from arrival through departure. The position suits someone who enjoys face-to-face service, has a strong hosting instinct, and works well in a flexible, communicative team environment.
The role also involves transporting guests around the site using small electric floats, so you will need to make sure each journey feels safe, smooth, and enjoyable. A full driving licence is mandatory, and because of insurance requirements, candidates must be over 21 years old.
As part of the Soho House team, you will help ensure members receive consistently high standards of service, while being given opportunities to connect with others, develop professionally, and contribute to a lively workplace culture.
Key duties
- Greet guests on arrival and departure, and assist with their luggage.
- Accompany guests to their rooms and introduce them to the House when needed.
- Support the Front of House team with guest requests and general assistance.
- Keep luggage areas and vehicles tidy and organised.
- Handle deliveries, room relocations, and other internal support tasks as required.
- Carry out routine checks of public spaces and report hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Step in to support other departments during busy periods so operations continue smoothly.
- Represent Soho House values, standards, and service approach at all times.
What the team is looking for
The ideal candidate will be approachable, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a service-driven team. Up to 2 years of experience in a busy, high-profile venue is preferred, though previous porter, hospitality, or guest-facing experience is not essential.
You should be able to communicate clearly, stay organised under pressure, respond well to feedback, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment. Flexibility is important, including availability for weekends and public holidays. You must also be able to follow written and spoken instructions reliably.
Pay and benefits
This role pays £15.50 per hour in the UK. Soho House also offers a range of perks designed to support wellbeing, training, and everyday work-life balance.
Additional benefits
- Weekly pay
- Team meal prepared by in-house chefs while on shift
- Soho Friends membership
- 50% discount on food and drinks, available seven days a week
- Staff room rates
- Health cash plan with the option to add up to 2 dependents
- Dental plan with the option to add up to 2 dependents
- Birthday day off after 1 year of continuous service
- Up to 50% staff discount on Cowshed and Soho Home
- 2 paid charity days per year through Soho Impact, to support a charity of your choice

- Continuous personal and professional training
- Monthly team events such as fitness sessions, cinema screenings, and art classes
