Role Overview

Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara is seeking a Learning & Development Manager to guide team growth and capability building within the property. Rooted in the Anantara hospitality philosophy, the role focuses on creating meaningful development experiences that support both individual progress and service excellence.

In this position, you will act as a positive example for team members, helping shape their learning journey from the outset. Your work will include building and tracking individual development plans, coordinating training initiatives, and ensuring employees receive the learning support they need. You will also partner with the Property Leadership Team by recommending ways to strengthen skills and improve overall team effectiveness, with the goal of enhancing guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a development-focused role model for colleagues across the property.
  • Design, monitor, and update individual learning and development plans.
  • Plan and coordinate training activities that support team growth.

  • Advise the leadership team on ways to improve skills, capability, and service performance.
  • Help ensure that development initiatives contribute to higher customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Hotel Management. The role calls for at least 3 years of experience in a learning-related function, along with exposure to adult learning or a similar environment. Experience working with diverse cultures is important, and hotel operations experience is considered an advantage.

Successful applicants should be self-driven and able to deliver strong outcomes under tight timelines. The position also requires solid facilitation skills, the confidence to present to groups, and strong communication ability in English. In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate capability in project management, process management, analytical thinking, strategic decision-making, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
