Lifeguard

About the Role

We are seeking dynamic and self-motivated Recreation professionals to advance their careers as Lifeguards at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing activities in the swimming area to ensure swimmer safety and provide assistance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimming areas to prevent accidents and assist swimmers.
• Warn swimmers about unsafe conditions.
• Perform rescues for swimmers in distress and administer first aid.
• Maintain order and cleanliness within the swimming areas.
• Test and maintain the pool's chemical balance (chlorine and pH levels).
• Organize and officiate swimming events and provide swimming instruction.
• Ensure the swimming pool and surrounding deck are clean and free of debris.
• Maintain the cleanliness and proper positioning of sun loungers.
• Regularly check and ensure the pool temperature meets set standards.
• Securely tie down umbrellas when not in use for safety.
• Provide immediate emergency care and treatment until professional medical services arrive.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of the club's facilities, operating hours, promotions, and pricing.

Requirements

• Must be a professional swimmer and a trained, qualified lifeguard.
• Possession of a diploma or university degree is required.
• Previous experience, particularly in the hotel industry, is preferred.
• Must be physically fit and capable of working extended hours outdoors.
• A good command of the English language is essential.
• Strong interpersonal abilities are advantageous.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service skills and the ability to manage complaints effectively.
• Exhibit a positive, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
