Job description
Role Summary
The AZEK Company is hiring a Maintenance Support team member in Dahlonega, GA. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on keeping the facility clean, supporting maintenance activities, and helping maintain safe and contamination-free production areas.
Shift Schedule
The role follows a rotating 10-hour shift pattern. During Week 1, the schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. During Week 2, the schedule runs Saturday through Tuesday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Initial training takes place Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM until the employee transitions into the rotating shift.
Compensation
The pay rate for this role is $19 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep Building 122 and related production spaces clean to help reduce dust and contamination.
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks and aim to complete at least 95% on time.
- Handle deeper cleaning before and after high-dust work or plant shutdown periods.
- Support scheduled preventive maintenance checks by doing basic tasks such as lubrication, visual filter checks, tightening, and other simple inspections under supervision.
- Record observations clearly and escalate concerns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in weekend facility walkthroughs to look for leaks, safety concerns, and equipment readiness issues.
- Help the maintenance team with projects such as dismantling, reassembly, part replacement, and equipment calibration.
- Complete assigned work safely and correctly while keeping rework to fewer than two instances per month.
- Maintain control of tools and keep the work area neat and organized.
- Support quality control by ensuring cleanliness standards are met and contamination risks are minimized, especially in powder coating areas.
- Work with QA/QC teams to close cleanliness-related issues within 48 hours.
- Attend all required maintenance training provided by the company.
- Show progress by passing written and practical assessments according to the training plan.
- Shadow experienced technicians to build knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Develop familiarity with the powder coating process, including equipment use, basic troubleshooting, and contamination control.
- Track learning progress weekly and begin assisting with basic troubleshooting under supervision within 90 days.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, alternate Saturdays, and support weekend projects is necessary.
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, remain on feet for extended periods, and work in an industrial setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid commitment to cleanliness are essential.
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning, janitorial work, utility support, or production support is preferred.
- Interest in skilled trades or a maintenance career path is an added advantage.
